The April RCA Meeting will be held at the HPRAR Meeting Center due to the Furniture Market in downtown High Point.
Bishop’s 16-year career in North Carolina economic development has been at the municipal level, with nine years in coastal, rural Currituck County and the last seven years in the Carolina Core as the City of Burlington’s Economic Development director. He has direct experience with development finance, incentive negotiations, incentive contracts and grant management with programs from all levels of government.
Bishop has worked with government leadership, industry partners and community champions, building close ties with the staff of the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, the Piedmont Triad Partnership and the North Carolina Department of Commerce. He has participated in numerous recruitment missions, site selection events and trade shows.
A Cleveland, Ohio-area native (and long-suffering Cleveland sports fan), Bishop graduated from the University of Toledo, earning a bachelor’s degree with honors in philosophy. He then earned a master’s degree in public administration with a certificate in economic development from Cleveland State University. He began his career in the private sector in commercial real estate, working in appraisal, brokerage and development before transitioning to the public realm.
No Charge for RCA Members. Non RCA Members are $20
Please note the April meeting will not be held at String & Splinter due to the Furniture Market. The meeting is being held at the HPRAR Meeting Center, 1830 Eastchester Drive, High Point, NC 27265,
